Algiers Court House (Update)

In this video Ray Bros., Inc. is performing a design, build, and install operation on the Old Algiers Courthouse in New Orleans, LA. Ray Bros., Inc. designed and manufactured a replica of the old “COURTHOUSE” sign which had been there for more than one hundred years (1896) until it was taken down by Hurricane Katrina. The new signs frame, metal cladding, layout, sheet metal details, bracing, and hoisting system was designed and built at our shop taking nearly two month of fabrication, then we used a crane to put the two ton steel sign in the spot of the old sign. In addition to the crane, Ray Bros., Inc. used its drone to capture aerial footage of the entire operation. This is part of an ongoing 1.2 million dollar renovation of the historic courthouse. This is listed as one of NOLA’s top construction projects in New Orleans right now according to this site https://nola.curbed.com/maps/tower-highrise-construction-map-New-Orleans. If any news publications would be interested in covering a story on this project or for further questions, please contact Gino Ray Jr.

Sacred Heart

It was quite a sight! The cross on top of the 100-foot high bell tower at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church on Canal Street was leaning so badly when we first saw it in May it seemed ready to fall at any moment. The terra cotta roof tiles were falling, broken pieces littering the ground.

...and then Ray Bros., Inc. Roof and Wall System designed and built a new copper roof with copper flat lock fascia panels on a custom metal stud frame.
